While the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DCUs of the world are busy charting paths to attain glory like yesteryears and create a franchise that is so lucrative that the world surrenders to it, one studio that already did it years ago and with less chaos is Lucas film and their IP Star Wars. There can be infinite franchises and IP projects out there, but only a few can reach the level of euphoria that Star Wars creates.

Over the years, Star Wars has seen a long list of films, spin-offs, books, merchandise, TV shows, and a lot of other things. Everything of the aforementioned is successful and has takers for the same.

This also means that with the love factor attached, there is also a tsunami of money flowing in from all directions. A tsunami we would want to be hit by, but it is Lucasfilm who are the lucky ones. So today as we enter a new year, let’s meet an old friend who has aged well, and ‘marvel’ at its monetary achievements which are insane.

Total Box Office haul is over $10 billion

The Star Wars movies together are a massive monster in itself. Over the course of more than a decade and 11 movies, the franchise has, in total, earned a sum of $10.325 billion at the global box office. One film out of the 11 has a global haul of over $2 billion and 4 others have crossed the $1-billion mark. Does the Barbenheimer box office traction now seem small? So below is a list that includes the box office collection of all 11 movies in order from highest to lowest.

  • Episode VII – The Force Awakens (2015) — $2.064 billion
  • Episode VIII – The Last Jedi (2017) — $1.331 billion
  • Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker (2019) — $1.072 billion
  • Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) — $1.055 billion
  • Episode I – The Phantom Menace (1999) — $1.027 billion
  • Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005) — $848 million
  • Episode IV – A New Hope (1977) — $775 million
  • Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002) — $656 million
  • Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back (1980) — $549 million
  • Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983) — $482 million
  • Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) — $393 million
  • The Fastest $100 million

The last few years have been about the race to make the fastest $100 million and Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: No Way Home made it look like a cakewalk, while The Force Awakens made it look like it was never even a challenge. Before the Marvel movies entered the list, it was this Star Wars film that held the record.

    The fastest $200 million

The Force Awakens was a beast that unleashed and took over the box office haul like crazy. In a matter of just three days, the movie had already crossed $200 million and was already out to conquer bigger milestones.

The total worth of the franchise is insane

The Star Wars franchise is not just about the movies; there are shows, merchandise, books, games, and much more. If one calculates the total worth of the franchise, it sums up to around $65.631 billion. The numbers are crazy, and we cannot even imagine what all of this money looks like together.

George Lucas - wealthiest film celebrity

George Lucas hit gold when he decided to shape the Star Wars franchise. The man is legitimately one of the wealthiest celebrities in the world with a net worth of $7.5–9.4 billion. Again, not many of us can fathom.
