Silambarasan is gearing up for the release of Pathu Thala, his first outing this year. The audio launch of the film has been slated to happen on March 18 and the star's fans are waiting for the surprises that makers will be unveiling at the event. The gangster flick will be hitting the screens on March 30.

There have been reports of the actor having signed up a project with Desingh Periyasamy of Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal fame. Though an official announcement is pending, we hear that Anirudh has been roped in to compose music for the movie.

Both Silambarasan and Anirudh had expressed interest in working together for a film a while ago. It looks like the time has come for them to join forces. Interestingly, Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International is likely to bankroll the project. When fans of the Maanaadu star were curious about the actor's next project, this news came as a huge surprise and delight for them.

Tentatively titled STR 48, a formal update is expected to happen in one of the coming days. However, the actor has already hinted at something exciting coming his way in a tweet.

He posted a short clip from one of his interviews which was out last year along with the caption "Patience is a virtue. It took a lot of faith but it鈥檚 worth the wait". The interview has him saying that though he had listened to a few scripts, he is waiting for a unique project that could satiate his hunger.

"Long ago, I did Manmadhan when I was in such a state; I myself had directed it. To satisfy my enthusiasm now, I should either wear a director's hat or find a script that could please me completely," he said.
