Stream Rajinikanth’s cult film Muthu for FREE on this platform before this date

The 1995 Tamil film Muthu is now streaming for free on SunNXT app, and will be available for free until Sunday, as part of the streaming platform's Free Movie Fest campaign. The Rajinikanth-starrer film is a commercial potboiler, directed by filmmaker KS Ravikumar.

To celebrate the weekend of Rajinikanth’s birthday, SunNXT is offering the superstar’s 1995 film Muthu free of charge streaming on its platform. Alternatively, the film is also available on OTTplay Premium app. Muthu will be available for streaming until December 15, Sunday.

Muthu released in 1995 and is written and directed by K. S. Ravikumar. Produced by Kavithalayaa Productions, the film also stars Meena, Sarath Babu, Radha Ravi, Vadivelu, and others. A remake of Malayalam film Thenmavin Kombath, Muthu is about the friendship between a zamindar and his servant and how it is put to test after they fall in love with the same woman.

It is to be noted that while Muthu was a commercial success in Tamil Nadu, the film also had a massive run in Japan, becoming one of the highest grossing Indian films in Japan. The film was released in Japan in 1998 as Muthu – The Dancing Maharaja and sold out tickets like hot cakes.

Rajinikanth’s next Coolie with Lokesh Kanagaraj

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is next working with filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj for a film titled Coolie. The film is touted to be a gangster drama, and is backed by Sun Pictures. Actors Upendra, Sathyaraj, Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan and Soubin Shahir are confirmed to play supporting roles in the film.

Hindi actor Aamir Khan is also expected to play a crucial role in Coolie, the production of which is underway in Jaipur. Coolie has music by Anirudh Ravichander. Recently, the makers released a glimpse of Chikitu Vibe from the film, for the occasion of Rajinikanth’s birthday.
