No Tamil and Hindi versions of Su From So on OTT

But why not in Hindi and Tamil? According to reports, Su From So will only be available in three options and not Hindi and Tamil, because the remake rights have been sold in those two languages. After the Kannada original released on July 25, a week later, Malayalam came out and yet another week hence, the Telugu version. It was said that a Hindi dubbed version was also in the works, but then there was no news of it. Later, there were reports of the film getting a Hindi version, especially after the team met Ajay Devgn, but JP Thuminad clarified that the meeting was only for the Bollywood actor to appreciate their efforts.

As for Tamil, Kannada filmmaker NS Rajkumar reportedly bought the rights as he saw potential for a local version. It remains to be seen if anyone from the original film’s team will be involved in the making of either the Hindi or Tamil version. Su From So was earlier reported to be a September 5 release on the platform, even though this was not confirmed by the team or the streamer. A long weekend would have been just perfect, but JioHotstar, has chosen a mid-week outing for one of the most widely anticipated films, which is also the first Kannada film on the platform since the JioCinema and Hotstar merger.

The film was initially marketed as a horror comedy, but after the release it became clear that it was more comedy than horror. Su From So revolves around the exorcism of Sulochana From Someshwara, a spirit believed to have possessed the protagonist, Ashoka (JP Thuminad). Who is Sulochana and what does she want from Prakasha and the people in his village?
