Popular actor and television anchor Subi Suresh passed away on Wednesday at the age of 41. It's said that she was suffering from a liver-related ailment for some time and she passed away before she could undergo the liver transplantation.

Subi's untimely death has sent a shock wave across the Malayalam film industry. Even though she worked in television, her popularity was limited with the audience of the small screen. She enjoyed a good rapport with the who's who of Malayalam cinema. And some of the biggest names in Malayalam entertainment have crafted lengthy condolence messages paying tribute to Subi.

"Subi Suresh, a beloved artist who won the affection of the Malayali audience with her smile, has left us too soon. My painful condolences over the death of a dear sister, who was supposed to scale great heights in acting and anchoring," wrote Mohanlal in his condolence message on his Facebook page.

"Absolutely shocked to hear about Subi Suresh. Soo young and so much left to do. A real loss to the Malayalam film fraternity. Praying for her family and friends to cope through this difficult time," tweeted Dulquer Salmaan.

In a lengthy post, Suresh lamented that her death could have been avoided if the law around organ donation was not so stringent. "Goodbye to Subi Suresh. We have to say that there were many efforts made to prevent her death. I thank the valiant efforts of various people from the entertainment industry, like Tiny Tom, who tried everything within their power to save her. I am aware of all their efforts," he said.

Like many popular television stars in Malayalam, Subi began her journey in the entertainment industry as a mimicry artist. She later landed a spot on the popular comedy show Cinemala. And she never looked back. During the Covid lockdown, she launched her own YouTube channel, which was an instant hit.
