Sunflower 2- This will be the first time when audiences will get to see an actor being paired opposite a teddy bear, says Adah Sharma| EXCLUSIVE

After having won the hearts and attention of many with her roles in films like Hasee Toh Phasee, Commando and others, the ‘simply beautiful’ Adah Sharma went on to stun everyone with her role in the film ‘The Kerala Story’. She is planning to do the same thing with her role in the upcoming series Sunflower 2, which will be released on Zee5 on March 1, 2024. Besides Adah, the show also stars Sunil Grover, Ranvir Shorey, Girish Kulkarni, Mukul Chadda, Radha Bhatt, and Ashish Vidyarthi in important roles.

OTTplay caught up with Adah Sharma for an exclusive interview. 

Adah, what made you say yes to the role in Sunflower 2?
Honestly, I have never ever seen a role of this sort that has ever been written for anyone, nor have I seen anyone do something like this. I have never done anything of this sort that delves in a dark comedy space.

What was the brief given to you by the director about your role? And, once you got the brief, was it an instant yes from you or you took the time to give your nod?
I got a call for Sunflower 2, while I was shooting the last few days of The Kerala Story. I played multiple characters and shot myself in which I had spoken in various voices. They simply loved it. Vikas Bahl has really presented the women characters in an extremely good fashion in films like Queen and others. So, I was super happy to be working with him in Sunflower 2.

You have learnt salsa in the US for four months and also jazz and ballet. Besides all that, you are also trained in martial arts. Did your films allow you to incorporate any of these in your roles?
Since I have been trained in martial arts, it was kind of easy for me to do the action scenes in Commando. As for Sunflower 2, since I play a bar dancer, I had to dance very normally. That’s why I cannot simply say that, my training in dance helped me in this character in a major way.

At the same time, there is a scene in Sunflower 2, wherein I will be seen breaking the walls in the house with a sledgehammer! I think that my training in martial arts did help me! (smiles).

The show’s promo shows you having a teddy with the name Raj on its dress. Is there some kind of reference to any superstar actor?
Arre no…. Raj is the name of the teddy bear that I have. And this will be the first time when you will get to see an actor being paired opposite a teddy bear! I cannot divulge more details than this. You really have to watch the show as to how things unfold.
