Venkatesh scored the biggest hit of his career with Sankranthiki Vasthunnam, which grossed just over Rs 300 crore at the box office. For several months, he did not sign any new films, but he has finally locked a family drama with star director Trivikram Srinivas.
We at OTTplay were the first to report that the shooting of the film will kick off in August 2025. Now, we have an exciting update regarding the female leads of the film.
Trisha Krishnan, who was last seen in Mani Ratnam's Thug Life, has been roped in to play the female lead. The female characters in Trivikram’s films are always written with strength, and the moment Trisha heard the story, she gave her nod right away.
Trisha and Venkatesh previously worked together in the cult classic Aadavari Matalaku Arthale Verule, which still trends on social media for Venkatesh’s powerful performance. This new film marks Trisha's fourth collaboration with Venkatesh and adds solid value to the project. She will next be seen in Chiranjeevi’s Vishwambhara, which has wrapped up its shoot and is awaiting a release date.
On the other hand, we’ve also learned that along with Trisha, Nidhhi Agerwal has been signed as the second lead. The young actress is awaiting the release of her upcoming film Hari Hara Veera Mallu, starring Pawan Kalyan. Getting a chance to work under the direction of Trivikram is a huge opportunity, and Nidhhi is super excited about it.
Naga Vamsi of Sithara Entertainments will bankroll the film on a high budget, with Thaman composing the music. The film will go on floors next month and is expected to be wrapped up within six months. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project.
