Superstar Rajinikanth is currently busy shooting for his upcoming sports drama, Lal Salaam, helmed by his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth. During the break, the veteran actor took some time out to offer his prayers at the Arulmigu Arunachaleswarar Temple in Tiruvannamalai.

Pictures of the actor at the temple are doing the rounds on social media. The actor is seen wearing a garland and bowing in front of Lord Arunachaleswara. In yet another picture, he is seen swarmed by the crowd at the temple.

As for Lal Salaam, Rajinijanth is playing an extended cameo in the film and his character is titled Moideen Bhai. The film has Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in the lead and has music by AR Rahman. The shoot for the film is currently underway.

Lal Salaam marks Aishwarya Rajinikanth's third feature film as a director after 3 and Vai Raja Vai. The film is gearing up to hit screens later this year.

In the meantime, Rajinikanth is awaiting the release of Jailer, the action-packed drama helmed by Nelson Dilipkumar. The film has an ensemble cast, including Shiva Rajkumar, Jackie Shroff, Mohanlal, Sunil Ramya Krishnan, Tamanaah, Yogi Babu, Vasanth Ravi, Redin Kingsley, Vinayakan and Jaffer Sadiq to name a few. The latest we hear is that Nirosha is also part of the film, though there has been no official announcement yet.

Jailer is expected to have some heavy-duty action scenes and the BTS pictures from the film have hinted at the same. Music is by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Vijay Karthik Kannan and editing by R Nirmal. Jailer is bankrolled by Sun Pictures and is gearing up to hit screens on August 10 as Independence Day special.

Due to Jailer's release, the release date of Sivakarthikeyan's Maaveeran, which was initially slated to hit screens on August 11, was advanced to July 14.
