Jithu Madhavan is one of the young Malayalam filmmakers whose movie announcements excite film enthusiasts. Recent rumours state that the director will soon collaborate with Tamil actor Suriya.
Jithu Madhavan and Suriya project updates
Recent reports state that Suriya would play a police officer in the movie, which is billed as a full-fledged entertainer. The project will also include some Malayalam actors and crew. The project, now known as Suriya 47, is probably going to begin later this year after the Venky Atluri movie. The makers have not, however, verified any updates regarding this upcoming project.
Suriya is prepared to work with Venky Atluri, who is well-known for the Telugu box office hits such as Tholi Prema and Lucky Baskhar. As said, a simple pooja ceremony was held recently in Hyderabad. Other information about the untitled film will be made official soon. The film's female lead will be played by Malayalam actress Mamitha Baiju.
Jithu Madhavan's directorials in Malayalam
The filmmaker made his debut with Soubin Shahir-starrer Romancham, which is streaming on JioHotstar. Aavesham, starring Fahadh Faasil, was Jithu's prior and sophomore directorial. The film opened in theatres last year with the biggest box office opening collection of all the Vishu releases in 2024. Three weeks after its theatrical release in April last year, the movie entered the Rs 100 crore club. Additionally, it is Fahadh's highest-grossing film in his career.
In Aavesham, three young guys are looking for an alliance to fight their college bullies. However, they wind up in the clutches of a notorious gang. Fahadh Faasil's performance gives Aavesham fresh life and heightens the film's amusing and thrilling elements. The rest of the film's cast includes Sajin Gopu, Midhutty, Pranav Raj, Mithun Jai Shankar, Neeraja Rajendran, Roshan Shanavas and Tamil actor Mansoor Ali Khan. The screenplay for the most recent movie, Painkili, was also written by Jithu Madhavan.
