It looks like the wish of many Suriya and Karthi fans is about to come true. The two brothers are likely to share screen space soon and the news has come as a pleasant surprise for fans.
Karthi says the brothers are certain to do a film together
In an interview with Variety, the Japan actor stated that though fans want Suriya, Karthi and their father, veteran actor Sivakumar, together in a film, his father wants to steer clear of the camera. However, the brothers were ready to work together. The actor stated that it's rare for two brothers to be in the same film industry. Though they were sceptical to team up earlier, they are now certain that they should do a film together.
Fans want a Rolex and Dilli faceoff
Ever since the news began doing the rounds, fans have been asking for a Rolex and Dilli faceoff. Both characters are a crucial part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe. While Dilli (Karthi) is the lead character of Lokesh's action thriller Kaithi, Rolex is the kingpin of the drug mafia in Lokesh Kanagaraj's last outing Vikram. Suriya plays the character, which is a cameo in the Kamal Haasan-starrer. It is to be noted that there was reference to Dilli in Vikram.
Karthi awaits release of Japan
Director Raju Murugan's Japan is said to be based on the life of Tiruvarur Murugan, who was involved in many robberies in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. He was also the mastermind behind the jewellery theft at a Lalitha Jewellery showroom. Murugan, who was one of the most wanted criminals of the time, died in 2020. The actor has wrapped the dubbing for his portions.
Other projects
Karthi has completed 50 per cent of the shoot of his upcoming film with Nalan Kumarasamy. He has also signed another project with Prem Kumar of 96 fame. The film is said to be a coming-of-age drama.
