The test shoot of Vetri Maaran's Vaadivaasal happened a week ago in the outskirts of Chennai. Suriya and Soori among others participated in the event, leaving movie lovers excited. Kalaippuli S Thanu is producing the movie under V Creations. Actor-politician Karunas is one of the assistant directors of the project.

A couple of days ago, Bala's film (tentatively titled Suriya 41) went on floors at Kanyakumari, with Suriya and others. The makers had announced the cast and crew of the movie. The actor's 2D Entertainment Pvt Ltd is bankrolling the project. Both the movies will have GV Prakash composing music.

There was news doing the rounds that Suriya 41 is likely to skip theatrical release and go the OTT way, similar to Soorarai Pottru and Jai Bhim. However, the actor has quashed those rumours and confirmed that both his upcoming films will be released in theatres.

The audio clip from a Twitter Spaces session he was part of in which he talked about the same has been going viral on social media.

He said, "Every upcoming moment is exciting for me as I'm teaming up with Bala and Vetri Maaran. Both the films started almost simultaneously. The movies are not going to be very easy. But I feel both the projects will definitely entertain the audience."

Suriya added that Vaadivaasal and Suriya 41 will be a memorable theatrical experience and that the crew of both the films is striving hard for it. While Krithi Shetty has been roped in for Suriya 41 as its female lead, the heroine of Vaadivaasal is yet to be confirmed.

According to a source, one of the two films is expected to hit the screens this year and the second one might release in early 2023.
