There has been news doing the rounds that Suriya's production house 2D Entertainment Pvt Ltd will bankroll a project which will have Bala at the helm. It was heard that Atharvaa will play the lead in the movie. There has been speculation about Suriya playing a cameo and Keerthy Suresh essaying the female lead in it.

A while ago, Aishwarya Rajesh's name, too, was in the news pertaining to the cast in the untitled film. The project is now officially on, though details of the cast and crew will be known only later.

Suriya himself took to Twitter to announce that he is teaming up with Bala after a long time. The excited actor-producer posted a picture of himself along with his father Sivakumar and Bala. He expressed happiness over collaborating with the filmmaker again and sought love and support form movie buffs.

The translated version of his tweet read, "He is someone who believed in me more than myself, someone who showed a new world to me apart from giving me an identity. I'm joining hands with him again after 20 years with the same excitement I had back then. I'm starting a new journey with my annan with the blessings from appa."

The duo, who first teamed up for Nandha (streaming on MX Player), collaborated again for Pithamagan (streaming on MX Player and Sun NXT), which had Vikram, too, playing one of the leads. Bala last directed Varma, the first Tamil remake of Telugu hit film Arjun Reddy. However, the project was put on backburner as the production team wasn't happy with the output and went ahead with another remake, titled Adithya Varma.
