The other day, the censor certificate of Suriya-starrer Etharkkum Thunindhavan did the rounds on social media. The Pandiraj directorial has been certified with U/A, and its run time is said to be 150 minutes. The makers have unveiled three singles composed by D Imman from the movie till now.
Though February 4 was announced as the film's release date initially, looks like the team is mulling over a change in their plans. With restriction on night shows and complete lockdown on Sundays, the current situation isn't favourable for big ticket projects. Last year, there were speculations that the film will hit the screens on December.
There are unconfirmed reports doing the rounds that the movie might postpone its theatrical release to February 25, though an official announcement is awaited. If this turns out to be true, the film will have a clash with Bheeshma Parvam at Kerala, Bheemla Nayak at Telugu states and Vikrant Rona at Karnataka.
Bheemla Nayak was initially supposed to release on January 13, but RRR's earlier plan to arrive on January 7 made the former change their plans. With Suriya enjoying a good market across all the south states, it has to be seen if makers of Etharkkum Thunindhavan will choose February 25 as its new release date.
The family entertainer is the star's theatrical release after more than two year-hiatus. Priyanka Arul Mohan plays the female lead in the project which has Rathnavelu handling cinematography and Ruben handling editing. Sun Pictures has produced the movie which has Sathyaraj, Saranya Ponvannan, Rajkiran, MS Bhaskar, Vinay Rai and Soori among others essaying key roles.
Vignesh Shivan, Yugabharathi and Sivakarthikeyan have penned the lyrics for Vaada Thambi, Ullam Urugudhaiya and Summa Surrunu, the three singles released respectively so far from the movie.
