Kanguva is clearly one of the most-hyped projects of Suriya. The latest we hear about the film, directed by Siruthai Siva, is that it will have a sequel. In a clip that's doing the rounds, Dhananjayan, who is associated with the film's production house, is seen saying that the film's story is so big that it will have a proper ending which will lead to a sequel.

While speaking to Tamil publication Kumudham, Dhananjayan said, "KE Gnanavel Raja and Siva have been in talks about the film for a long time. After a discussion for five long years, the film finally materialised. Gnanavel Raja wanted to make the film on a large scale. Kanguva is a man with the power of fire. Siva wanted the film's title to appeal in all languages, considering it was a pan Indian film. Suriya's character in the film is a very powerful one and it will have many dimensions to it. The plot revolves around two time spans- 500 years ago and in the current timing. Both will culminate at one point."

He added that the film is a big one for Suriya in terms of the business. "No other audio rights of Suriya's film has been bought for such a whopping price. Likewise with the digital rights. There are a lot of expectations from the film. But at the same, a lot is being spent on the film. The team is spending Rs 40 lakh to 50 lakh for the shoot every day, sometimes it goes up to Rs 75 lakh. Giant sets are being erected for the same. It is an expensive film in Suriya's career."

The producer stated that there will be many action and war sequences in the film. "There will be many goosebump-inducing moments in the film." He added that Yogi Babu will be playing a crucial role. "Siva and Gnanavel Raja have been planning to make a sequel to the film and Suriya has also agreed to the same. He stated that the team will make a call after they finish shooting for the first part. The story is so huge that while one part gets over, it leads to another."

The shoot for the film is currently happening in Kodaikanal and is expected to span 25 days. The entire film's shoot will be wrapped up in a span of months. The post production is expected to take time due to the CG work in the film.
