Suzhal The Vortex S2: What to expect from second season of Pushkar and Gayatri’s crime web series

Even as Tamil entertainment space is yet to make it big in the OTT space, Pushkar and Gayatri’s series Suzhal is one of the known Tamil series. The makers recently announced the premiere of the second season on Prime Video. For those who have watched the first season know that it a crime thriller series set in a small town.

With the theme of a small village set against a big festival and a crime taking place, the second season will see the cast of first instalment along with some new faces. Ahead of Suzhal 2 premiere on February 28, here’s what you can expect from it.

What to expect from second season of Suzhal: The Vortex?

Suzhal: The Vortex season 2 is all set to land on Prime Video on February 28. Spear-headed by Pushkar and Gayatri, the series is a crime thriller starring Aishwarya Rajesh, Kathir and others. For those who have not watched the first season, it revolves around the case of a missing teenage girl and how her sister Nandini goes lengths to search for her, only to find out that their childhood trauma is back and murders the killer.

Now, the second season will continue from where the first season ended. After being jailed for murdering the perpetrator, Nandini is left helpless when senior activist lawyer Chellapa, who defended her, is killed. Sakkarai, the police official involved in the case and Nandini’s friend is summoned to assist the family in their time of crisis. While the first season was set against Mayanakolai festival, the second season will have the backdrop of Ashtakaali Festival. Suzhal 2 will explore the family secrets and betrayals, and acts in the past that cast long shadows on the present.

The second season will have bigger ensemble cast, including actors reprising their roles and new faces. They include Kathir, Aishwarya Rajesh, Lal, Saravanan, Manjima Mohan, Kayal Chandran, Gouri G Kishan, Samyuktha Viola Viswanathan, Monisha Blessy, Rini, Shrisha, Abhirami Bose, Nikhila Sankar, Kalaivani Bhaskar, Ashwini Nambiar, Chandini Tamilarasan and others.

Created by Pushkar and Gayatri, the series is helmed by Bramma and Sarjun KM, the series will premiere on February 28.
