Swasamae: This lyric video from Nayanthara's O2 is about the beautiful mother-son relationship

A while ago, the makers of O2 had announced that the Nayanthara-starrer will skip theatrical release and that it will instead have a direct-to-OTT release on Disney+ Hotstar. The film's teaser was released recently which was instantly lapped up by movie buffs.

The team has now come up with its first single, titled Swasamae. The three-minute lyric video revolves around the relationship between a mother and a son. Vishal Chandrashekhar's soulful composition and Brindha Sivakumar's voice stand out from the song, while lyrics penned by Rajesh Giriprasad and Mohan Rajan complement the melody track.

The release date of O2, produced by SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabhu under Dream Warrior Pictures, is yet to be announced. This is Nayanthara's third direct-to-OTT release after Mookuthi Amman and Netrikann which were released in 2020 and 2021 respectively. Interestingly, all of them dropped on Disney+ Hotstar.

Thamizh A Azhagan has cranked the camera for O2 while Selva RK has handled editing and Rajakrishnan MR is at the helm of sound mixing. Sudesh Kumar and N Satheesh Kumar are in charge of action choreography and art direction respectively. 

As the post production of O2 is underway in full swing, an announcement on the film's release is expected any time soon. Debutant GS Viknesh has directed the movie which is billed as a survival thriller. Its story revolves around a few bus passengers who go through a lot of struggles after the vehicle meets with an accident.

Nayanthara's last outing Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal which was released in theatres a month ago is dropping on Hotstar tomorrow. Her next outing in Tamil, Connect, too, is likely to release this year. Gold along with Prithviraj, Godfather along with Chiranjeevi and untitled Bollywood debut with Shah Rukh Khan are a few among the other projects she currently has in her kitty.
