Taanakkaran release date: When and where to watch this cop drama starring Vikram Prabhu online

Last year, there were reports about Vikram Prabhu-starrer Taanakkaran skipping theatrical release and going the OTT way. A month ago, the makers confirmed it and released its trailer. Anjali Nair plays the female lead in the movie which has been directed by Tamizh who played a notable role in Suriya's Jai Bhim.

Ghibran has composed music for the film which has Lal, Madhusudhanan, MS Bhaskar and Bose Venkat among others essaying important characters. The team has unveiled two singles from the project, Kattikoda and Thudithezhu Thozha, so far. SR Prakash Babu, SR Prabhu, P Gobinath and Thanga Prabaharan R have bankrolled the movie under Potential Studios.  

What's Taanakkaran about?

The film's story revolves around a group of police trainees who join a police recruit school where they are treated in an unfair manner by the senior officers. One of them raises his voice against the cruel practices which are being followed by the officers there. Will he be able to bring about a change?

Vikram Prabhu had lost a few kilos to play the protagonist in the movie. According to a source, most of the police trainees who acted in the film are real life police officers who underwent rigorous training sessions to fit into their respective roles.

When and where to watch Taanakkaran?

The movie will have a direct release on Disney+ Hotstar on April 8; it marks the actor's second OTT project. His last outing, Pulikuthi Pandi, too, had a direct digital release. Madhesh Manickam has cranked the camera for Taanakkaran which has editing by Philomin Raj.

Stunner Sam has choreographed stunt scenes for the film which has dance choreography by Sheriff and art direction by Thiruman S Ragavan.
