Tabu opens up on working with Vishal Bhardwaj, Ajay Devgn: They know the best and worst of me

In her almost four decade long career, Tabu has had opportunities to work with an array of seasoned stars in the industry. Among them, she seems to look back on her associations with Vishal Bhardwaj and Ajay Devgn fondly. The actress recently opened up about her experience working with the two.

In conversation with PTI, Tabu said that the two always came to her with ‘something of substance’. Talking of how well the duo knew her, she said “They know the best and worst of me, and I know the best and worst of them".

Tabu talked about how Bhardwaj had given her some of the ‘best’ characters of her career. She revealed that she shared a kind of ‘synergy’ with Bhardwaj which she has had with very few filmmakers she has worked with. The actress is currently working on Bhardwaj’s upcoming directorial Khufiya, a thriller with Ali Fazal.

On Devgn, Tabu talked about the ‘fantastic and successful’ work she has done with him, crediting the Runway 34 star with always bringing her work that had ‘great value’. She revealed that she had known the actor since they both were teenagers, and considered him like family. She will be seen with Devgn in Drishyam 2 and the Hindi remake of Bholaa.

The actress went on to say how comfortable she felt working with both Bhardwaj and Devgn, saying that it felt like ‘home’ and she could always say that it was ‘her film’. “So, when I walk on their set, I feel this is my world and this is my kingdom," she added.

Tabu is currently awaiting the release of her film, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which also stars Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani in pivotal roles. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, directed by Anees Bazmee, will be released in theatres on May 20.
