Takkar day 1 box office: Makers reveal worldwide collection of the Siddharth-starrer. Details inside

Karthik G Krish's Takkar, which has been lying in the cans for a while, finally released yesterday in Tamil and Telugu. The Siddharth-starrer has Divyansha Kaushik, Yogi Babu, Vigneshkanth and Abhimanyu Singh among others essaying crucial characters in it. Sudhan Sundaram of Passion Studios has bankrolled the project.

The film has opened to mixed response among critics and the audience. Its screenplay and a few character designs have been receiving flak while Siddharth's earnest performance is said to be one of the few positives of the movie. 

Takkar revolves around an ambitious youngster who sets out to make loads of money to lead a luxurious life. He encounters a lot of unexpected struggles during his journey and meets a girl who doesn't believe in the idea of romance. What happens to him after he comes across several uninvited people in his life forms the rest of the story.

Por Thozhil, which has also released along with Takkar, has been garnering positive reviews from several quarters and is sure to pose a big threat to the latter. Movie buffs are curious to know how the Siddharth-starrer would perform at the box office from Monday.

The makers have now officially revealed the film's day one collection. According to them, Takkar has earned 2.43 crores from across the world. Though this is a decent figure for a movie which has opened to mixed reviews, the real test begins after a couple of days.

Nivas K Prasanna's music is one of the highlights of the project which has Vanchinathan Murugesan and GA Gowtham handling cinematography and editing respectively. Udaya Kumar K has helmed art direction and Dinesh Kasi has choreographed action sequences.
