Takshakudu teaser: Anand Deverakonda's blind avatar shines in a high intensity thriller

Anand Deverakonda proved his mettle with his performance in the romantic drama Baby, now streaming on OTTplay Premium. Since then, not many of his films have hit the screens. He is now all set to make a promising OTT debut with the Netflix film Takshakudu.

Netflix recently released the teaser, and it looks quite intriguing. Backed by the makers of DJ Tillu, Takshakudu has been directed by Vinod Anantoju, who earlier made Middle Class Melodies with Anand. That family drama was a direct OTT release, and Vinod’s second film, Takshakudu, is also heading straight to OTT. 

The teaser showcases Anand Deverakonda playing a blind man who is being chased by an unknown person. How a hurt, weak, and clueless man handles such danger forms the crux of the story.

The visuals are top-notch, and the production values are impressive. Every penny spent on the lighting is clearly visible on screen. Anand’s performance as a blind man is superb, as he has worked hard on his look and body language, which reflects strongly in his act. 

The thrills, twists, and drama in the promo create instant interest. Vinod Anantoju does a fine job of establishing the conflict in a gripping manner. Baahubali Prabhakar is seen in a key role in this film, which has skipped a theatrical release. 

Who is the female lead in Takshakudu?

Laapataa Ladies fame Nitanshi Goel makes her Telugu debut with Takshakudu and plays a village belle in a substantial role, as per the makers. Anand Deverakonda once again proves that he is a capable actor, and his blind character is expected to be the film’s biggest highlight.

Be it the background score or the production design, Takshakudu looks polished and engaging. After watching the teaser, one does get the feeling that the film deserved a theatrical release.
