The leading lady of Jailer, Tamaanah, recently dropped a BTS picture in which she is seen in a rehearsal for a dance number. The song is choreographed by Jani. She captioned the picture, 'Calm before the storm' and also tagged the film's director Nelson Dilipkumar in the post. It looks like the first single from Superstar Rajinikanth's Jailer is likely to release in the first week of June and that the audio launch will be held in Nehru Stadium.

While the shoot for the film has been wrapped up, the team is busy with the post production. Earlier, the makers had announced the film's release date as August 10. The film has an ensemble cast and Nelson Dilipkumar has pulled a casting coup of sorts by roping in the big names from all the southern industries and Bollywood.

The star cast includes Rajinikanth, Shiva Rajkumar, Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff, Sunil, Ramya Krishnan, Tamanaah, Yogi Babu, Vasanth Ravi, Vinayakan,  Redin Kingsley, G Marimuthu, Prabhakar, Naga Babu, Sadhu Kokila, Mirnaa Menon, Kishore, Kalaiyarasan to name a few.

While the music for the film is by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography is by Kartik Kannan and editing by R Nirmal. Stun Siva's action choreography, too, is expected to be one of the highlights of the film. The shoot for Jailer was held across various locations across the country, Chennai, Cuddalore, Hyderabad, Mangalore, Bangalore, Kochi and Rajasthan.

Rajinikanth will be playing a jailer named Muthuvel Pandian and his mass character introduction has already won many hearts. The team recently dropped a sneak peek into characters along with the release date announcement.

This is the maiden collaboration between Nelson Dilipkumar, who had earlier made films like Kolamavu Kokila, Doctor and Beast.

Jailer is billed as the comeback for both Rajinikanth and Nelson as their last respective outings, Annaatthe and Beast, didn't work with the audience and got negative reviews. A lot is riding on the film for both the director and the Superstar.
