Tamannaah Bhatia boards Ranger: Jungle adventure with Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt

Back in 2024, it was reported that Jagan Shakti, director of Mission Mangal, and Ajay Devgn are collaborating on a unique jungle adventure that is being worked on under the title Ranger. Luv Films, with whom Devgn has collaborated on the De De Pyaar De series, will produce the film. Later, it was announced that Sanjay Dutt would play the jungle adventure's antagonist in Shakti. Preparations for Ranger have been ongoing, and the film is ultimately expected to go on floors by March's end.

Tamannaah Bhatia joins the cast

Now, as per reports in Pinkvilla, Shakti has cast Tamannaah Bhatia as the lead female character in Ranger. The first week of April will see the addition of the actor to the film, joining Devgn and Dutt, according to people close to the development.

Bhatia can't wait to start her adventure with the makers of Ranger. The character has a redemptive journey and is well-written. She has begun personal preparations for the film and has assigned the crew bulk dates. A source familiar with the matter disclosed that Shakti had reviewed scripts for Bhatia on several occasions.

Ensemble cast joins Ranger

Plus, a fearsome ensemble has reportedly joined Ranger, though we don't know who they are just yet. The film will reportedly shoot on several schedules throughout the year with a 2026 release date in the works.

The project has a large budget, and Devgn is just as excited as everyone else to dive into the jungle adventure genre. The actor-filmmaker is known to be enthralled by technology used to create something unique; it's more of an adventure with newer graphics for Hindi cinema, according to the source.

Ajay Devgn's busy schedule

With the exception of Ranger, Devgn has a slew of feature films under his belt. He has recently finished filming De De Pyaar De 2, but he has a busy schedule ahead of him: shooting Dhamaal 4 (in only a few days), then Ranger, Drishyam 3, Shaitaan 2, and Golmaal 5 (among many more). His next feature film, Raid 2, will premiere in theatres on May 1, 2025.
