Tamil Rockerz, the SonyLIV original, is a project which piqued the curiousity of movie buffs ever since it was announced. The web series touches upon one of the most sensational issues Tamil cinema has ever faced - piracy. Its story revolves around a cop who is after a group of dreaded gang who are into making pirated copies of news films.

Arun Vijay plays Rudra, a cop, who hates cinema in this series who takes up the case after the president of Tamil Film Producers Council (played by Azhagam Perumal) requests him to get involved in it.

Vani Bhojan, Ishwarya Menon, Vinodhini Vaidyanathan and MS Bhaskar among others play significant characters in the project which has been helmed by Arivazhagan. This is the first web series and third project for which Arun Vijay and Arivazhagan have joined hands.

Manoj Kumar Kalaivanan has penned the story for Tamil Rockerz which has been bankrolled by Aruna Guhan and Aparna Guhan Shyam under the banner of AVM Productions. The screenplay and dialogues for the series have been jointly written by Manoj Kumar Kalaivanan and Rajesh Manjunath. B Rajasekar and VJ Sabu Joseph have handled cinematography and editing respectively for the project.

Vikas Badisa has composed music for Tamil Rockerz which has action choreography helmed by Stunt Silva. The trailer of the series has references to original incidents like pirated versions of Telugu film Attarintiki Daredi, Hindi movie Udta Punjab and Malayalam film Premam getting leaked, which affected their theatrical run.

The second web series of SonyLIV from Tamil language, Tamil Rockerz will drop on the OTT platform from August 19. This is also Arun Vijay's second straight OTT release after Oh My Dog which was released earlier this year on Amazon Prime Video.
