Telusu Kada is Siddhu Jonnalagadda's latest Telugu film, which was promoted on a very aggressive note. Sadly, it has failed to evoke a positive response from the audience. The theatrical run of the film has ended, and Telusu Kada has made only ₹9 crore in share collections during its full run, a shockingly low figure, according to the tracking portal Sacnilk.

Made on a budget of ₹40 crore, the film has been declared a debacle by trade circles, and the makers are set to incur heavy losses. Reports suggest that the non-theatrical rights brought in around ₹15 crore, meaning the makers will face a loss of nearly ₹17 crore, no small amount in today’s times. Despite spending heavily on promotions, the film failed to take off.
Even with a bold story and a solid cast, the family drama did not resonate with audiences. Overseas, Telusu Kada grossed only ₹4 crore, as per M9 News, which is also quite low. The film, directed by debutante Neeraja Kona, deals with the delicate subject of surrogacy.

Siddhu Jonnalagadda, who also contributed to the writing, reportedly had a major influence on the film’s creative direction, with some claiming he even ghost-directed it, one of the reasons cited for its failure. Netflix has acquired the digital rights and is expected to stream Telusu Kada in the second week of November 2025.
Featuring Raashii Khanna and Srinidhi Shetty as the female leads, with music by Thaman, the film had everything going for it. Strong cast, good visuals, and appealing songs, but the weak narration ultimately turned Telusu Kada into a loss-making venture. Only time will tell how the film fares on OTT.
