Nelson Dilipkumar's upcoming project, Jailer, with Rajinikanth is expected to kick off any time soon; an announcement on the same is eagerly awaited by fans. The first look and title of the movie, which was tentatively titled Thalaivar 169 for several months, were unveiled recently.
Despite various speculation doing the rounds regarding its cast, Sandalwood star Shivaraj Kumar is the only actor who has officially come on board. The likes of Priyanka Mohan and Redin Kingsley are said to be playing important characters in the film. Aishwarya Rai and Ramya Krishnan's names are also doing the rounds.
The latest on the project is that its test shoot is currently underway in Chennai. Popular stylist Aalim Hakim is in charge of Rajinikanth's much-expected look from the movie, and we hear that the team will commence shooting a few weeks after the test shoot gets wrapped. An excited Aalim took to Twitter to post a picture with the Superstar.
Needless to say, fans of the Superstar are excited to the core and have started guessing about the stylish look their matinee idol is going to sport in the film. The success of the movie is crucial for both Rajinikanth and Nelson as their previous outings left many disappointed.
Rajini's last film, Annaatthe directed by Siva, received lukewarm response at the box office whereas Nelson's last release Beast, starring Vijay, opened to mixed reviews from critics and the audience. Anirudh has been roped in to compose music for Jailer which will be bankrolled by Sun Pictures.
The project will mark the young composer's third collaboration with both Rajinikanth and fourth collaboration with Nelson. Anirudh's previous projects with Rajini were Petta and Darbar, while he teamed up with Nelson for Kolamavu Kokila, Doctor and Beast. Jailer is expected to hit the screens as a summer 2023 release.
