Test trailer out: Madhavan, Nayanthara, Siddharth’s dreams get entwined in this emotional sports drama

Test is an upcoming Tamil sports drama directed by S. Sashikanth, marking his directorial debut. The film features a stellar cast including R. Madhavan, Nayanthara, Siddharth, and Meera Jasmine, with supporting roles played by some known faces. The makers on Tuesday released the trailer of the film on social media. The film will release on Netflix on April 4.

We had earlier reported that R. Madhavan, Nayanthara, Siddharth will be starring in upcoming Tamil film Test, which is cricket based. The film will be direct to OTT release, with Netflix premiering it on April 4. Ahead of this, the makers released the trailer of the film.

The film revolves around Nayanthara introducing her husband played by Madhavan to cricketer played by Siddharth. As she says that they first met at the Test match Siddharth was playing at, she also tells that her husband is running a canteen, irking Madhavan. We are shown that Siddharth's Arjun is a seasoned batter, while Madhavan's Saravanan is a scientist who is struggling to mount his project. Meanwhile, Nayanthara plays Kumudha who is craving to become a mother. The lives of three individuals entwine, as each of their passion is put on line. The film promises to be an emotional roller-coaster ride, which extends beyond the cricket ground.

Test OTT release date

The story of Test revolves around the lives of three ordinary individuals whose paths intersect with sports as the backdrop. The makers had earlier released the character teaser for the main cast characters. Test is Netflix’s first Tamil original to release this year.

The film's music is composed by Shakthisree Gopalan, who is making her debut as a music director.​ Notably, it also signifies Meera Jasmine's return to Tamil cinema after a decade-long hiatus. ​Test is scheduled for a direct-to-streaming release on Netflix on April 4, bypassing a theatrical release. The film will be available in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. ​
