Without a doubt, Lagaan is the pinnacle of Bollywood's cricket filmography. If you combine patriotism and cricket, cast Aamir Khan as the lead, have Bhanu Athaiya design the clothes and have AR Rehman provide the music, you really can't go wrong. You may finish the movie by adding Amitabh Bachchan's narrative and Anil Mehta's outstanding cinematography.
Every single performer, most of whom had only been minor extras up until that point, went above and beyond to create a unique film that won Academy Awards. All in all a timeless classic, the film is available on Netflix.
The 2005 Nagesh Kukunoor-directed Iqbal features the story of a deaf and mute Iqbal (Shreyas Talpade) who only wants to bowl swiftly and play cricket for India against his anti-cricket father Anwar (Yatin Karyekar). His sister Khadija (Shweta Prasad) seeks out the assistance of the neighborhood drunk and ex-cricketer Mohit after he was turned down by a cricket academy (Naseeruddin Shah). He wins a spot in the Andhra Pradesh squad after being rejected by the Hyderabad Ranji Trophy team, refuses a bribe, and elevates his performance to new heights. At the conclusion of the film, he also runs across Kapil Dev. It is available on Amazon prime Video and Zee5.
Chain Kulii Ki Main Kulii
Karan (Zain Khan), a 13-year-old orphan, is the protagonist of the Kittu Saluga-directed film. The film follows Karan as he finds the bat that Kapil Dev had used in that innings and, using his "magic bat," starts to bat so effectively that he becomes the youngest player ever to play international cricket. However, as soon as Karan joins the Varun-led Indian team (Rahul Bose), he encounters a series of problems and even misplaces his bat before the series' final game. Here, Kapil Dev also makes an appearance. Rahul Bose and Zain Khan play the two main leads in the movie.
Ferrari Ki Sawari
There is never a dull moment while watching a Vidhu Vinod Chopra film, and this one is no different. When little Kayo (Ritwik Sahore) is chosen to attend a camp at Lord's, his father Rusi (Sharman Joshi) is persuaded to concoct an original scheme: he decides to steal Sachin Tendulkar's Ferrari in order to obtain the necessary 1.5 lakh rupees. A fantastic comedy about a boy's love of the game and his father's love for him, the film is available on amazon Prime Video and Disney+Hotstar
