A new series is in the making in Tamil OTT space. Titled Thadayam, the web series starring actor-diretor Samuthirakani, is soon to drop on ZEE5 via OTTplay Premium. While the streamer had earlier released the first look, the release date has now been confirmed. Thadayam will steam on February 27.

After making series like Regai, Heartiley Battery, and Veduvan last year, ZEE5 is returning with yet another series to start this year. Titled Thadayam, the series is led by Samuthirakani. It will release on February 27. Subscribers of OTTplay Premium can also watch the series.
Directed by Naveen Kumar Palanivel and produced by Ajay Krishna, Thadayam is expected to be an intense, story-driven film that places Samuthirakani’s powerful acting at its core. Notably, Samuthirakani’s earlier films like Thiru Manickam and Vinodhaya Sitham, are available to stream on ZEE5.
Set in the timeline of 1999, the series revolves around a string of brutal midnight murder that takes place in the Tamil Nadu borders, setting a terrifying landscape for the locals. But when a sharp new officer arrives, he uncovers a chilling pattern, that the killer steals only the sacred symbols of marriage, setting off a deadly hunt to stop a murderer driven by obsession, rituals or something darker. It is only recently ZEE5 debuted the critically acclaimed Tamil film Sirai. The Vikram Prabhu-starrer is a crime drama which revolves around a cop escorting a young man accused of murder to the court.
Meanwhile, the 2026 film Parasakthi is also gearing up for release. It will stream on February 7. The Sivakarthikeyan film is directed by Sudha Kongara and is a period political drama about the anti-Hindi agitations that took place in the history of Tamil Nadu.
