The movie Thalainagaram, starring actor-filmmaker Sundar C, which was released in 2006 was in the news in recent times for two reasons. Vadivelu's Naai Sekar Returns, which hit the screens recently, was a spin-off of the movie which was directed by Suraj. A sequel to the former was announced sometime ago with Dhorai VZ at its helm.

Dhorai and Sundar had earlier teamed up for the horror flick Iruttu which was released in 2019. The makers of Thalainagaram 2 wrapped up its shooting a while ago and have now unveiled its teaser.

The two-minute promo video showcases Sundar C's character, Right, a gangster returning as a deadly, violent person who takes on a few enemies. The teaser has some gruesome shots, indicating the nature of Right in the second installment of the movie.

SM Prabakaran and Dhorai have bankrolled the project under Right Eye Theatres. Thambi Ramaiah, Prabhakar, Aayira and Jaise Jose among others will be seen essaying notable roles in the film which has editing by R Sudharsan and cinematography by E Krishnasamy.

Maniji has penned dialogues while Don Ashok has choreographed action scenes for Thalainagaram. The movie is slated for a theatrical release in 2023. Sundar C's last outing as an actor was Pattampoochi; he has Vallaan and One 2 One in his kitty. His last directorial Coffee With Kadhal started streaming on Zee5 a week ago.
