Filmmaker T.J. Gnanavel is all set to direct Superstar Rajinikanth in his next movie, which is tentatively titled Thalaivar 170 . Rumours suggest that Gnanavel will again put the criminal justice system of the country under the microscope with this movie.

According to sources, Thalaivar 170 will follow the story of a retired police officer, who is determined to stop police encounter killings. Just like Gnanavel's previous movie, Jai Bhim, it's said that the upcoming movie is also inspired by real-life incidents.

Gnanavel's films are known for their hard-hitting, realistic social commentary and strong political themes. In Jai Bhim, the director delved into the topic of caste bias in the criminal justice system, highlighting how it was destroying the lives of innocent people from weaker sections of society. The film also touched upon the devastating effects of police brutality, inspired by a real-life case handled by retired High Court Justice K Chandru.

Gnanavel's films are also known for their powerful, thought-provoking dialogues, and it's expected that Thalaivar 170 will be no different. With Rajinikanth in the lead, the movie is sure to be a hit at the box office. Meanwhile, Rajinikanth recenetly completed shooting for his upcoming movie titled Jailer. Written and directed by Nelson, the movie is getting ready for release soon . Bankrolled by Sun Pictures, Jailer features a star-studded ensemble cast including Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar, Jackie Shroff, Tamannaah, Ramya Krishnan, Sunil, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Vinayakan, among others.
