Thalapathy Vijay, the crowd-puller of Tamil cinema, is joining hands with hitmaker Venkat Prabhu for the first time in his career. The project, which marks the Leo actor’s 68th outing in the film industry, has been tentatively titled Thalapathy 68. However, recent updates from sources close to the project suggest that the highly anticipated project is set to get its official title this New Year's Eve.

As per the latest reports, the much-awaited official title and first-look poster of Thalapathy 68 will be revealed on December 21, 2023, on the special occasion of New Year’s Eve. If the reports are to be believed, the makers of the Venkat Prabhu directorial are also planning to drop a high-octane first-look motion poster or a special title reveal video, featuring leading man Thalapathy Vijay, along with the first-look poster. More updates on the same are expected to be out in a couple of days.
Thalapathy Vijay’s multiple looks in Venkat Prabhu’s film
Interestingly, Thalapathy Vijay is reportedly set to appear in multiple avatars in the highly anticipated project, which is touted to be a science fiction thriller. The actor is appearing in his usual look in all major portions of the film. However, the flashback portions of Thalapathy 68 will feature Vijay as a 19-year-old.
As reported earlier, the popular star is set to undergo a major transformation for his appearance in the film, which reportedly revolves around the time travel concept. The rumour mills suggest that the Thalapathy 68 makers are spending a whopping amount of around Rs 6 crore just for the flashback portions. However, it is yet to be revealed if the de-aging technology is being used for Vijay's teenage look in the sci-fi thriller.

Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the songs and the original score. Siddhartha Nuni is the director of photography. The project is bankrolled by the popular banner, AGS Entertainment.
