Vijay’s Thalapathy 68, directed by Venkat Prabhu, is an action entertainer that went on floors recently. The film also features Prashanth, Prabhudeva and Mic Mohan in pivotal roles, with Meenakshi Chaudhary rumoured to play the female lead. Speaking of the latest, Malayalam actor Jayaram is reportedly roped in to play a character in the Vijay-starrer. Earlier, Jayaram shared screen space with Vijay in AR Murugadoss’ Thuppakki one of the biggest commercial films in Vijay’s career. Meanwhile, Jayaram’s last outing in Tamil was Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan 2.
All about Thalapathy 68
The plot of the film has not been fully disclosed by the makers yet. Venkat Prabhu, who is known for his unique style in films such as Mankatha and Maanaadu, has hinted that the film will be an enjoyable and thrilling experience. Recently, Vijay was spotted at a Hollywood studio for Thalapathy 68, indicating that the f ilm will incorporate AI and virtual techniques.
It is also said that Vijay will play both the father and son roles in the upcoming movie. The movie’s stunt choreography will be managed by Anbariv , who is known for his work on movies such as Vikram and Kaithi. Their previous collaboration, RDX: Robert Dony Xavier, received praise for its action sequences.
Backed by AGS Entertainment, Thalapathy 68’s music is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film, which is the first collaboration between Vijay and Venkat Prabhu, is slated to be released in 2024.
Leo - Vijay’s highly anticipated release
Vijay’s upcoming movie, Leo - an action-packed film directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj - is set to hit the theatres on October 19. The film has generated a lot of buzz, and is touted to be Vijay’s biggest release to date. Unfortunately, due to an overwhelming demand for passes and safety concerns, the film’s audio launch had to be cancelled. However, fans are now looking forward to the movie’s trailer launch on October 5.
