The much-awaited announcement about Thalapathy Vijay's next is finally here! While Venkat Prabhu will be helming the project, which is tentatively being referred to as Thalapathy 68, music for the film is by Yuvan Shankar Raja. This is Yuvan's second collaboration for Vijay. The last time he had composed for the Leo star was in 2003, for the film Pudhiya Geethai.

Pudhiya Geethai starred Vijay, Meera Jasmine and Ameesha Patel in the lead. The film was directed by newcomer KP Jagan. This is the only Tamil film of the Kaho Na Pyar Hai actress. The film opened to mixed reviews and failed to set the box office on fire.

The film's album composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, comprised six songs, namely Vasiyakaara, Mercury Poove, Manase, Annamalai and Naan Odum Ilaignan. Lyrics for the songs were by Vaali, Pa Vijay, Yugabharathi and Vijay Sagar. The background score for the film was by Yuvan's elder brother and composer Karthik Raja.

Though Yuvan Shankar Raja didn't compose any songs for Vijay's films post his only collaboration, he did sing 'Andha Kanna Paathaakka' in Lokesh Kanagaraj's Master (2021). The song was composed by Anirudh Ravichander and had lyrics penned by Vignesh Shivan.

 Yuvan Shankar Raja, today, shared his excitement about collaborating with Vijay again. Taking to his social media handle, Yuvan wrote, "@thisisysr Sooo happy to collaborate with @actorvijay after a looooong time Super excited... This is #Thalapathy68 (sic)."

Yuvan Shankar Raja fans are quite excited about the collaboration. Many have stated that they are expecting a breathtaking background score for Vijay. Interestingly, Yuvan is known as the king of BGMs.

The film marks Venkat Prabhu's maiden collaboration with Thalapathy Vijay. Thalapathy68 will be bankrolled by AGS Productions. This will be the production house's 25th project and they have said in their latest statement that this will be their biggest film till date.
