Thalapathy Vijay's Leo is set to take a massive opening and it's clear from the unprecedented demand for its tickets across the country. In Bengaluru, a local theatre was compelled to resort to on-the-spot advance booking when its website crashed due to an influx of eager visitors.

"Our website has just crashed due to unprecedented load! While being set right, tickets will be issued at the theatre until 2 AM," tweeted Victory Cinema.

Leo unprecedented craze in Karnataka

However, fans were not ready to wait until the website came back online. Instead, they lined up before the theatre late at night, hoping to secure tickets for the early showings. "Just now!", captioned the theatre, while sharing a picture of fans waiting in the line for the tickets late in the night.

Leo is enjoying an exceptional craze across Karnataka. At this rate, it's likely to shatter the records of all previous Tamil blockbusters in the state. The film is scheduled to premiere in Bengaluru with early morning shows starting as early as 4 AM.

It's noteworthy that early-morning shows of Leo will take place in many parts of the country, barring Tamil Nadu. As per the government's order, the theatres are not allowed to screen fans' shows earlier than 9 AM.

Leo early morning shows across the country

Producer Lalit Kumar had petitioned the government to make an exception for Leo and allow early morning screenings. Considering the anticipation for the movie, the theatres could have turned in great profits by running more shows on its opening day. However, the government denied it sticking to the new protocol that came into effect earlier this year.

The theatres, however, are now allowed to run five shows each day, starting from 9 AM for about one week following the movie's release.

Written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Leo is set to arrive in cinemas on October 19. Besides Vijay, the movie also has Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Priya Anand, Mysskin, and Gautham Menon in the supporting cast.
