One fan said, "Just watched #Thamma, #AyushmannKhurrana is in top form, delivering laughs and chills like only he can.The comedy hits hard, and the horror scenes are spot on. #RashmikaMandanna adds her beautiful and mysterious charm."
Another said, "Ayushmann & Rashmika’s horror-comedy is a perfect festive entertainer! A bit slow in the start, but the second half hits hard Top-notch acting, catchy music & witty dialogues — totally worth a watch." Apart from Ayushmann and Rashmika, fans have praised Nawauddin's acting.
However, one review read, "I want to meet the people who watched #Thamma at the special 20 minute screening and went gaga. Interval now and struggling to keep my eyes open. What a snoozefest."
"Thamma is a ferocious folklore for the audience which brings its timeless storytelling with modern cinematic energy. The USP of the film are its THUNDEROUS CAMEOS, ROCK-SOLID ACTION, INTENSE STORYLINE, HEARTWARMING HUMOUR, & MADDOCK'S FIRST LOVE STORY," read a part of one review.
Take a look at more Thamma Twitter reactions:
Thamma is a story that follows Alok, a historian who is also a modern-day journalist researching Indian vampire folklore. During his research, he accidentally wakes up and is bitten by an ancient, powerful vampire named Yakshasan. Alok is transformed into a vampire, or "Betaal". He then meets Tadaka, a mysterious and grounded vampire, and the two fall in love.
The main conflict arises from their forbidden love, as it pits them against the villainous vampire king, Yakshasan, who seeks revenge. The story unfolds across two timelines: modern India and the ancient Vijayanagar kingdom, where their past lives and origins lie. To save his love and stop the Yakshasan's dark reign, Alok aims to embrace his new, supernatural identity and fight his powerful enemy.
The cast of Thamma features Ayushmann as Alok, Rashmika as Tadaka, Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Yakshasan, and Paresh Rawal as Ram Bajaj Goyal. Notably, the film has a cameo appearance, reprising his role as Bhaskar/Bhediya.
