Thammudu is Nithiin's new film that caught everyone's attention from the moment the trailer was released. However, all the hype faded away with the very first show, as the action drama was panned by audiences on day one itself.
We had reported that Thammudu made only Rs 2 crore on its opening day, a shockingly low number considering Nithiin's market. Things got even worse on day two, with the film failing to register basic openings and collecting just Rs 1 crore. This means Thammudu has been declared a flop of epic proportions.
The makers are set to incur heavy losses, and this marks yet another setback for producer Dil Raju. After facing massive failure with Game Changer, Thammudu adds to his rough patch. His eye for strong content seems to be fading, and many are trolling him for it.

This level of rejection was unexpected. On day two, occupancy did not even touch 40% in several areas of the Telugu states. In the U.S., Thammudu is a complete washout, with little to no interest among audiences.
Director Sreeram Venu structured the film with relentless action, which led to the censor board awarding it an 'A' certificate. This move further restricted its reach, especially among younger viewers. Yesteryear actress Laya makes her comeback with this film but is underutilized in the narrative.
One of the biggest complaints from the audience is about lead actor Nithiin. His lack of interest is visible, as he appears to sleepwalk through several scenes.
Netflix has bagged the digital rights to Thammudu, and by the looks of it, the film is expected to be released on OTT within three weeks of its theatrical debut.
