Some exciting South films have landed on OTT this week, including Pa-Ranjith and Vikram’s Thangalaan. To further spice up the south OTT space, Amal Neerad’s thriller Bougainvillea will also make its digital premiere later this week. Thangalaan - Netflix
After much delay, the Vikram-starrer Thangalaan landed on Netflix on December 10. Written and directed by Pa Ranjith, the much-talked-about film also features Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathy, and Daniel Caltagirone in pivotal roles. Set in the 19th century, the period action-drama film revolves around tribal people working at the Kolar Gold Fields. The Tamil film is also available in Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
Kanguva - Prime Video
The much-anticipated film of Suriya, Kanguva, was released in theatres last month. However, the film failed to do wonders at the box office and is now available to watch on Prime Video from December 8. The Tamil film, directed by Siva, is available in Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. It marked the Tamil debut of Bollywood actors Disha Patani and Bobby Deol.
Bougainvillea - Sony LIV
The psychological crime thriller, starring Kunchacko Boban and Jyothirmayi, is expected to be released on SonyLiv on December 13, 2024. The Malayalam film, directed by Amal Neerad, revolves around the life of Reethu, who suffers from amnesia after a deadly accident. Pushpa 2 star Fahadh Faasil is also a part of the film.
Kadha Innuvare - Manorama Max
Kadha Innuvare, directed by Vishnu Mohan and featuring Biju Menon in the lead role, will be released on Manorama Max on December 13, 2024. Nikhila Vimal also appears in a pivotal role in this Malayalam film, which marked dancer Methil Devika's feature debut.
Kanakarajyam - Prime Video
The Malayalam film stars Murali Gopy and Indrans in the lead roles. The film is available to stream on Prime Video in Malayalam with English subtitles. Kanakarajyam, directed by Sagar, also features Leona Lishoy, Dinesh Prabhakar, Unni Raj, Sreejith Ravi, Jolly Chirayath, and Ramesh Kottayam, among others
Roti Kapada Romance - ETV Win (OTTplay Premium)
The Telugu film Roti Kapada Romance, directed by debutant Vikram Reddy, was released in theatres in November. The film failed at the box office and is set for streaming on ETV Win from December 12. The film will also be available on OTTplay Premium. The cast includes Harsha Narra, Sonu Thakur, Sandeep Saroj, Supraj Ranga, and Tarun, among others.
Harikatha - Disney+ Hotstar
Disney+ Hotstar’s Harikatha will release on December 12, 2024. The Telugu web series features Rajendra Prasad in the lead role. The rest of the cast includes Divi Vadhata, Sriram, Pooja Ponnada, Arjun Ambati, and others.
