The much-awaited glimpse of Vikram from Pa Ranjith's Thangalaan was dropped today on the occasion of Chiyaan's birthday today. The glimpse shows Vikram in a fiery avatar as he takes on his nemesis. As he stands still for his makeup, he also struggles to walk barefeet on the rocks. He is also seen riding a horse in what resembles a mini battle scene.
Dropping the glimpse on his social media handle, Ranjith wrote, "Happy birthday to my #Thangalaan, @chiyaan sir Presenting you a slice of flesh, a grand making visual video of Thangalaan as our humble tribute to Chiyaan. https://youtu.be/VSaky5ZMGCY #HBDChiyaanVikram #ThangalaanMaking @chiyaan @kegvraja @StudioGreen2 @officialneelam (sic)."
Chiyaan Vikram has undergone a body transformation for the character and has even grown his hair for the character. He has been sharing his new photo shoots which have set the internet on fire. The film is set in the pre-independence era and against the backdrop of Kolar Gold Fields. Pa Ranjith, had stated that the film was inspired by real-life incidents and that it was an attempt to help an oppressed community get its due and respect. He had added that the film will be completely different from that of the popular KGF franchise in Kannada.

Thangalaan marks Vikram's maiden collaboration with Pa Ranjith. During the promotions of Ponniyin Selvan 2 in Coimbatore on Sunday (April 16), Vikram had stated that he had come from the shooting of Thangalaan and that the team had wished their best for Ponniyin Selvan release. The film has Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathy, Harikrishnan Anbudurai & Preeti Karan, Muthukumar as part of the star cast. Music is by GV Prakash Kumar. While the cinematography is by A Kishor Kumar, editing is by Selva RK.
Thangalaan is jointly produced by KE Gnanavel Raja's Studio Green and Pa Ranjith's Neelam Productions.
