Chiyaan Vikram's super hit film Gemini has completed 21 years since release. The film, which was released in 2002, was one of the biggest hits of Vikram, and the song 'Oh Podu' was a chartbuster. On the film's 21st anniversary, the Thangalaan star dropped a video in which he is seen recreating the popular pose from the single with the song buzzing in the background.

The film had Vikram and Kiran Rathod in the lead. Gemini, directed by Saran, had Vikram playing a small-time criminal and the film went on to become one of the biggest grossers of the year. A great part of the popularity of the film was credited to the song, Oh Podu.

Vikram is currently shooting for Pa Ranjith's Thangalaan, in which he plays the titular character. The film is set against the backdrop of Kolar Gold Fields and is said to be inspired from a real story. Ranjith had earlier stated that the film was an attempt to help gain an entire community the respect that they never got.

Parvathy Thiruvothu and Malavika Mohanan play the leading ladies in the film and Pasupathy in a crucial role. The shoot for the film is currently happening in full swing. Vikram has been dropping multiple pictures with his latest look, and his John Wick style of photoshoot had the entire internet swooning over him.

In the meantime, the actor is gearing up for the promotions of Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan, as the film is all set to hit screens by the end of this month. Vikram plays Crown Prince Aditha Karikalan in the film and Trisha plays Ilaiya Piratti Kundavai and Jayam Ravi plays the youngest of the Chola siblings, Arunmozhi Varman.

While Karthi will be seen as Chola commander Vallavarayan Vanthiyathevan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be seen as the Queen of Pazhuvoor, Nandini Devi. The film is bankrolled by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions.
