The shooting of Pa Ranjith's period film Thangalaan has been going on at a brisk pace for some time, and makers haven't revealed much stills from the movie. The story of the project is set in the British era and Vikram, who is playing the lead in it, will be seen in a lanky avatar.
The actor has also grown a long beard to play his character in the film which has Parvathi Thiruvothu and Malavika Mohanan essaying crucial characters. The Cobra star himself has shared a few BTS stills from the location.
He is seen sporting a modish sunglasses and showcases his shirtless physique as he takes a dip in a pool. Needless to say, his fans are going gaga over the photos and are excited to see the swag personified pics of their favourite star. Vikram captioned the post with "Back to the future. #Thangalaan".
Gnanavel Raja is bankrolling the film under Studio Green and GV Prakash is composing music. Kishor Kumar and Selva RK are in charge of cinematography and editing respectively. The makers are yet to announce the release date of the film, but it is expected that Thangalaan will hit the screens later this year.
Ponniyin Selvan 2, which is hitting the screens on April 28, will be Vikram's first outing in 2023. The last leg shooting of his long-delayed project with Gautham Menon, Dhruva Natchathiram, kicked off yesterday, and there are reports of the action drama, too, likely to make it to theatres this year.
If everything goes well, Vikram will have three releases this year as well. He had Mahaan, Cobra and Ponniyin Selvan 1 in 2022.
