The Archies is one of the most-awaited films of this year. People have been eagerly waiting for the movie to premiere on Netflix. Helmed by Zoya Akhtar, The Archies will drop on the OTT platform on December 7, 2023. It boasts an ensemble star cast that includes Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Agastya Nanda, Yuvraj Menda, Mihir Ahuja, Vedang Raina, and Dot.

Before The Archies drops on Netflix tomorrow, we have listed down 5 reasons why we are excited to watch the teen musical drama.

Adaptation of Archie Comics

The Archies is an adaptation of the famous American comic book, Archie Comics. Most of us have enjoyed reading this comic book in our childhood. The fact that it is being executed into a film sounds exciting itself. Don't you all want to relive the good old days by diving into the world of Riverdale? We wish to! That's one of the major reasons we are pumped up to watch the Netflix film.

A Zoya Akhtar directorial

The Archies is directed by Zoya Akhtar. She is one of the most celebrated filmmakers in the Hindi film industry. In the past, Zoya has delivered memorable and successful projects like Zindagi Na Milegi Na Dobara, Gully Boy, Dil Dhadakne Do, and more. Given her craft as a filmmaker and her body of work, we expect The Archies to be an exciting project.

Fresh star cast

The Netflix movie marks the acting debuts of Shah Rukh Khan's daughter Suhana Khan, Boney Kapoor, and late Sridevi's daughter Khushi Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan's grandson Agastya Nanda. It will be refreshing to witness how these newcomers will perform in The Archies. Apart from that, the film stars Yuvraj, Mihir, Dot and Vedang.

The retro effect!

Since The Archies is set in the '60s, everything's going to be retro in this film, in terms of how the characters are styled and the set has been built. And honestly, we don't mind going back in time to watch this teen drama unfold on the screen. Old is gold, they say!

A musical drama

What's more exciting about The Archies is the fact that it is a musical drama. While watching the film, it's the music that will keep the essence of the storyline intact. The music album of this film comprises songs like Sunoh, Va Va Voom, In Raahon Mein, and Dhishoom Dhishoom.
