After the success of The Archies, actor Agastya Nanda is looking forward to cementing his position in Bollywood. The 23-year-old starlet – who is also megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson, has reportedly been roped in as a lead actor in filmmaker Sriram Raghavan’s film Ikkis. The film is going to be encircled around the life of Indian military officer Arun Khetarpal. With this development, Agastya Nanda has likely replaced Varun Dhawan as a lead in Sriram Raghavan's film.

Agastya Nanda plans to make his theatrical debut

According to a report published in Pinkvilla this evening, Agastya Nanda will essay about the life of Arun Khetarpal in the theatrical film, while legendary actor Dharmendra will play Arun’s father ML Khetarpal’s role in the film. The project will go on the floors next year.

Further, sources close to the development told Pinkvilla that “Agastya has attended several acting workshops with the Sriram and specially trained acting coaches to polish his body language and step into the shoes of India’s most celebrated war hero, Arun Khetarpal”.

When asked why Agastya has been roped in for the film, sources claimed that “Sriram wanted a young actor to play the part of Arun Khetarpal and feels that Agastya fits the role like a hand in a glove.”

Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal PVC was an Indian military officer posthumously honored with India's highest military decoration, the Param Vir Chakra, in recognition of his extraordinary courage in the face of the enemy. He was born on October 14, 1950, and died on December 16, 1971, in Pakistan. He was unfortunately killed in action in the Battle of Basantar at Shakargarh during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971 where his actions earned him his honour.

What we know so far is that famous producer Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films will be producing the film. The announcement was made on November 8, 2022, when Dharmendra celebrated his 87th birthday.
