"There’s something about this kind of self-imposed torment that I always found really interesting and also inheriting a life that you’re not entirely sure you want but also feel like you cannot give up at all," said Robert Pattinson.

Robert Pattinson's iteration of Batman has been acquiring acclaim from both critics and audience for being different from the versions that have graced the screen so far.
In a recent interview, the actor, whose acting trajectory has some stellar films like Good Time, Tenet and Cosmopolis, spoke about the inspiration behind his brooding, angst-ridden character in Matt Reeves' directorial.
Pattinson said he studied Al Pacino's Michael Corleone in The Godfather and Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain to prepare for the role.
"In our first meeting, Matt mentioned Kurt Cobain was one of the linchpins of the character. Just that put something in my head. There’s something about this kind of self-imposed torment that I always found really interesting and also inheriting a life that you’re not entirely sure you want but also feel like you cannot give up at all. I remember we also talked a lot about Michael Corleone," Pattinson told Los Angeles Times.
The reference makes sense because Bruce Wayne is not so dissimilar to Michael Corleone. Both characters are heirs to immense fortune and are forced to work with an ambiguous ethical mindset.
The Batman also stars Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard and Andy Serkis, among others. The Catwoman is played by Zoë Kravitz while the Penguin is played by Colin Farrell. Paul Dano plays the Riddler.
The film is currently playing in Indian cinemas.
