It has been confirmed that the premiere date of The Bear season four has been delayed by ten days, despite showrunner Joanna Calo's earlier confirmation that the show would premiere in India on June 16. Now, on June 26, JioHotstar will air all ten episodes of Season 4 in India. On June 25, it will be available on FX and Hulu for American viewers.
Title | The Bear |
OTT Release Date (India) | June 26, 2025 |
Streaming Platform | JioHotstar |
Showrunner & Creator | Joanna Calo & Christopher Storer |
Lead Cast | Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Liza Colón-Zayas, Lionel Boyce, Abby Elliott, Matty Matheson |
Joining Jeremy Allen White (The Iron Claw and The Rental) as Carmy, the show stars Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach (No Hard Feelings), Liza Colón-Zayas, Lionel Boyce, Abby Elliott, and Matty Matheson, who all return for another season of the show. Season 3 had mixed reviews and worse ratings from viewers and critics alike; thus, the upcoming season will be looking to make up for lost ground.
While 89% of critics gave Season 3 a positive review on Rotten Tomatoes, only 51% of viewers gave it that rating. The speed and tone of the show were mentioned by several fans as complaints. The all-at-once distribution style was a frequent gripe, with some viewers claiming it made the emotionally powerful series more difficult to consume and stifled week-to-week conversations.
That being said, the release approach has not changed. Once again, all episodes of Season 4 will drop simultaneously, according to Hulu and FX. When compared to other FX on Hulu shows, the majority of which are released weekly, The Bear stands out. Alien: Earth and other prospective high-profile series will follow suit with weekly airings.
It seems like financial considerations were the deciding factor in maintaining a binge-release strategy. With an impressive 5.4 million views in just four days, Season 3 broke all previous marks for Hulu's scripted premieres. Even though it compromises longer discussions and slower consumption, the format is effective from a commercial standpoint since it provides immediate exposure and the possibility of going viral.
A more gradual rollout might be better for The Bear due to its complex characters and serious themes, but the data shows that the existing methodology is effective. People can view it in installments on June 26, or they can dive in all at once if they prefer.
