The fourth season of The Boys is still a month away from heading to Prime Video, but the streamer has already greenlit a fifth

Amazon Prime Video’s hit superhero show, The Boys, will have a fifth season. Ahead of the show’s impending fourth season launch, it was confirmed that the vigilantes fighting superpowered individuals will get another shot at saving the world from potential annihilation. The Boys Season 4 is set to drop on the streamer on June 13, with the first three of its total 8 episodes, followed by weekly releases, with the finale slated for July 18.
Jack Quaid, who plays Hughie Campbell on The Boys, took to social media to confirm the development, writing, “Cat’s outta the bag. @theboystv has been RENEWED for a FIFTH SEASON!”, along with a picture of the primary cast – Karl Urban (Billy Butcher), Laz Alonso (Mother’s Milk), Tomer Capone (Frenchie) and Karen Fukuhara (Kimiko Miyashiro). The show also stars Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T Usher, hace Crawford, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit and Cameron Crovetti, among others, with Jeffrey Dean Morgan joining in this season.
According to the official synopsis of Season 4, Victoria Neuman, the supe with the power to pop heads, is inching closer to consolidating her stake on the Oval office, aided by Homelander. Butcher, who has not only lost Becca’s son, but also the confidence of his team, needs to find a way to stop Victoria and Homelander, while also contending with the fact that he’s got only months to live, after injecting a tad too much Compound V in Season 3.
Following the renewal for Season 5, showrunner Eric Kripke was quoted as saying that The Boys could be the best job he’ll ever have, given that it allows him to write about politics, capitalism, family and exploding genitalia. The show is based on The New York Times best-selling comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, who are on board as executive producers.
