The theatrical release of Len Wiseman’s directorial venture Ballerina has been delayed. The John Wick spinoff movie has now been pushed to 2025 from its previous June 2024 slot. Notably, another upcoming movie from Lionsgate Films, The Crow, has now taken Ballerina’s spot and is all set to fly!
Ballerina and Crow unveil new release dates
Len Wiseman’s Ballerina has been moved from its previous release date of June 7, 2024, to the June 6, 2025, slot. The major announcement was made in order to film some more action sequences under the guidance of John Wick’s brainchild, Chad Stahelski. The one-year delay is anticipated to bring more adrenaline-pumping action sequences as director Len Wiseman teams up with mastermind Chad Stahelski to add more value to their upcoming project. Meanwhile, Ballerina’s June 7 slot has now been grabbed by Rupert Sanders’ fantasy superhero film, The Crow.
Ballerina, which is the fifth installment of the popular John Wick franchise, stars Ana de Armas leading the stellar ensemble cast as a trained assassin. The 2025 film also stars Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Byrne, Catalina Sandino Moreno, the late Lance Reddick, Norman Reedus, Ian McShane, and Keanu Reeves in pivotal roles. The story follows Armas seeking vengeance on her family’s killers.
Lionsgate Films serves as the mutual distributor for both the highly anticipated movies. According to Variety, studio insiders said that Chad Stahelski is overseeing the upcoming project and working closely on the action scenes. The makers also feel that there is “no rush” in pushing Ballerina to the theaters when they can improvise it.

Directed by Rupert Sanders, The Crow is a reboot and fifth installment of the 1994 film franchise. The upcoming supernatural film is based on James O'Barr’s comics of the same name. It stars Bill Skarsgård in the titular role, alongside FKA Twigs. The plot follows Eric Draven, a musician, who is murdered with his fiance. But he is resurrected magically and pledges to avenge their deaths.
