The Fable OTT release date – Here’s when to watch Katsuhisa Minami's anime adaptation

The Japanese animated series, The Fable, is all set to release on the streaming platform Disney+ Hotstar. Based on a popular manga of the same name, The Fable traces the story of the titular character, who struggles to survive in his new life. The animated web series will soon be released digitally around the globe.

When and where to watch The Fable

The anime makers are all set to unveil the manga adaptation for the fans. After high anticipation and much wait, fans can now enjoy the action-packed series on April 7, 2024. While US fans will stream The Fable on streaming platform Hulu, others can watch it on Disney+ Hotstar.

Based on the best-selling manga by Katsuhisa Minami, The Fable is produced by Disney in collaboration with Kodansha, a major publishing company in Japan, which is the home of iconic titles like Ghost in the Shell, AKIRA, Attack on Titan, and Parasyte, among others.

The Fable trailer and plot

The Fable is an action-packed anime that traces the life of a professional killer (Fable), who is feared by the criminal underworld for his ruthless tactics. But this highly trained assassin gets an order from a criminal leader to not kill anyone for a year

This new order becomes the turning point for the “hired assassin” as he navigates ways to adjust to his new life, while battling his natural instincts for killing. He relocates to Osaka and tries to control his irrational behaviour to fit into the new normal. Will he survive without the murders and crimes?

Ryōsuke Takahashi spearheads the series as the director, while Tezuka Productions oversees the animation.

The Fable features an impressive cast of voice artists. Anime favourite Kazuyuki Okitsu (Gintama) voices the titular character, Fable. Miyuki Sawashiro as Yoko Sato, Kana Hanazawa as Misaki Shimizu, Akio Otsuka as Takeshi Ebihara, Kenjiro Tsuda as Kojima, Tetsuo Komura as Boss, and Jun Fukushima as Jackal Tomioka also lend their voices to various prominent characters.
