The Game trailer out: Shraddha Srinath’s Netflix thriller series is a play among digital gaming world, bullying, and betrayal

We had earlier reported that Netflix is coming up with its first Tamil original series for this year with The Game. Headlined by actor Shraddha Srinath, the series trailer was unveiled by the streaming platform on social media on Thursday.

Streaming platform Netflix has announced a new series titled The Game. Helmed by director Rajesh M. Selva, it features actors Shraddha Srinath and Santhosh Prathap, among others.

When games are supposed to be played for fun, what happens when you are made to take choices that will have an impact in the real life? The trailer of The Game: You Never Play Alone teases this idea.

The trailer begins with audience introducing the gaming world, as we see couple Shraddha Srinatha and Santhosh Pratap as game designers who work in a designing company called Moon Bolt. As the wife achieves more in her field, she also becomes the subject of trolling and memes beyond boundaries. The trailer soon turns into a thriller as we see the wife trying to find those who are pulling her down. The cops get involved and things turn murkier.

The Game OTT release date:

The Tamil thriller series is directed by Rajesh M. Selva, written by Deepthi Govindarajan, and co-written by Selva and Karthik Bala. It will hit Netflix on October 2. The series stars Shraddha Srinath in her OTT debut, with the cast also including Santhosh Prathap, Chandini, Syama Harini, Bala Hasan, Subash Selvam, Viviya Santh, Dheeraj, and Hema.

The Game is expected to be a blend of a thriller and family conflict, bringing to the fore the fragility of relationships, and the unsettling emotion of trust.

Director Rajesh M. Selva says of the series, “With The Game, I wanted to explore the fragile line between the worlds we build and the lives we live. It’s a mix of genres, a high-stakes thriller layered with family drama and the complexities of relationships. In today’s hyper-connected age, nothing remains just virtual. What happens on a screen can bleed into reality, with consequences we cannot control. Beneath every mask lies a truth, and in confronting those truths, the story finds its power.”

Shraddha Srinath added, “Stepping into the role of an independent woman who is also a gaming developer was both thrilling and daunting. Entering a thriller zone where the very world my character created turns against her and becomes a haunting reality she cannot escape, felt challenging.”
