Plotline of the series
Following the journey of Shaun Murphy, played by Freddie Highmore, a young autistic surgeon with a troubled past from Casper, Wyoming, the series unfolds as he relocates to San Jose, California, to practice medicine at the prestigious San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital.
Shaun, an autistic surgical resident, is not only a skilled surgeon but also possesses near-photographic recall and an exceptional ability to observe minute details and changes. His hiring sparked a divided opinion among the board members. Season 5 concludes with Shaun marrying his girlfriend Lea Dilallo. In the subsequent season, Season 6, he advances to the position of a surgical attending, having successfully completed his residency. The season finale of Season 6 sees Lea giving birth to their son, Steven Aaron Murphy.
