Hosted by comedian Kapil Sharma, the first episode generated great buzz about the show online. While the news developments around this Netflix show are yet to die down, the second episode of the show is out now. The fresh episode sees famous Indian batsmen Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer as guests on the show.
Rohit Sharma recalls India losing 2023 World Cup Final
During the episode, which lasted about an hour, Rohit Sharma recalled the tragic loss of India during the 2023 ODI World Cup Finals in November. He emphasized that the pressure was high during the final match. However, he did not forget to laud the contributions of batters Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli on the field that day.
“Jab final match start hua… humne shuruat achchi ki. I think Shubman Gill jaldi out ho gaya tha. But uske baad Virat [Kohli] aur mera thoda saa ek partnership ho gaya tha. Toh confidence tha ki hum achcha score khada kar sakenge. Par final mein jab ap khelte ho, bade matches mein… run laga doge board pe toh samne waalo ke upar pressure hoga. Chahe ho 100 run kyu na ho! Kyuki unko banana he woh run. Aur pressure mein koi bhi team fisal sakti hein! But unhone achcha cricket khela, Australia ne… unka bada partnership bhi ho agya tha.

(When the final match started... we had a good beginning. I think Shubman Gill got out early. But after that, Virat [Kohli] and I had a small partnership. So, there was confidence that we could put up a good score. But in the final, when you play, in big matches... when you put runs on the board, there will be pressure on the opponents. Even if it's 100 runs! Because they have to chase those runs. And any team can slip under pressure! But they played good cricket, Australia... they also had a big partnership going),” said Rohit Sharma.
This is the first time that Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer have come together on this comedy show. The Great Indian Kapil Show can be viewed anytime on Netflix.
